Experience report from Budapest

After the summer exams of the academic year 2022/2023, I started my internship in Budapest at MOL Plc., more specifically at MOL GBS Magyaroroszág Kft., where I was able to gain insight into the workings of the finance department. I had the opportunity to do my internship in the newly built office on Dombóvári road We are talking about an amazing high-tech office building at the Kopaszi dam, and at first I couldn’t speak in amazement. Monumental building, beautiful interior and the views are second to none from all sides of the building. A fully equipped, airy, clean building with plenty of facilities. What’s interesting is that no one has a fixed location, everyone works in the place where they work and is free to change their location. For me, this was very sympathetic, as I am not the kind of person who sits in one place. In addition to work, the building offers additional services for employees such as a gym, beauty salon, sauna, massage, various group training sessions, a relaxation room, restaurant, game room, internal garden and two viewing platforms on both the podium and the tower.

On the very first day, the HR staff welcomed me with a big smile on their faces and showed/explained everything. After a short introduction I was introduced to my mentor who has incredible professional knowledge in the industry. In fact, you could say that whatever I asked, I always got an answer and a big smile. I was able to learn a lot from the very beginning, gaining an insight into the operation and use of the SAP system, as I needed it to do all my daily work. There was something to do every day, I was never bored, and I was also able to develop professionally. My knowledge was broadened by doing more in-depth accounting tasks. After completing my own tasks, I was given the opportunity to learn more accounting tricks. For me it was very nice to have a dog friend in the whole office building , I also got a new friend Molly who easily got into everyone’s hearts and brought a smile to our days. Of course, I have not only developed a good relationship with small animals, but also with my colleagues, some of whom I keep in touch with even when they are not in the office. This is probably also due to the friendly and family atmosphere that the company offers its employees. I was able to build contacts and I had the idea that I would like to continue my professional career at MOL. It was nice to see such a diverse company, with so many nationalities and languages in this building alone. I was constantly improving my English and sometimes I even needed Slovak. Fortunately, I found accommodation only 35-40 minutes away from the building near Csikó promenade in Csepel. Thanks to the very good bus and train connections, I could get to work and home easily every morning. In addition, the whole city is very easy to get around. After work, I had plenty of time to explore Budapest, and I took advantage of it by living in one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals. My colleagues helped me with this, giving me lots of ideas and places to go and things to do in Budapest. I was very lucky to live in Budapest at a time when there are plenty of outdoor activities and entertainment. I enjoyed every moment of it and can only recommend it to everyone.
